The Somaliland National Armed Forces are the military services of the Republic
of Somaliland. The Somaliland National Armed Forces consist of the Somaliland
National Army, the Somaliland Coast Guard, the Somaliland Police Force, the
Somaliland Custodial Corps, the Somaliland Immigration and Border Control and
the Somaliland Fire Brigade. There is no air force. The Armed Forces are under
the command of the President, who is the Commander-in-chief. The Minister of
Defense is the designated minister that oversees the armed forces.

This flag may need confirmation. It is a creation of a Wikipedia user, and there
are several versions of it, none of which can be found in photographs. Red is an
unusual color and the swallow-tail is strange. This may be a mis-identification
or a poor reconstruction.

The Armed Forces has a swallow-tailed red flag, the national flag is placed in
upper hoist. The Armed Forces emblem consists of spears, letters S and L (Army
emblem), topped with air wings and anchor. The entire yellow emblem is flanked
by a yellow wreath.

force and largest branch of the Somaliland Armed Forces is based in the
Somaliland capital of Hargeisa. The Somaliland National Army is composed
entirely of professionals and volunteers due to the army not being mandatory of
conscription. Some Somaliland battalions operate near the Puntland border due to
a border dispute.
Flag of the National Army is dark green with Army
emblem in the middle of the flag. It consists of two spares superimposed with
letters S and L, and all elements are placed within a red ring.

and coastal defence branch of Somaliland Armed Forces, founded on 2 October
1995.

The Somaliland Fire Brigade is a force for firefighting disasters, human
safety and other national services related to the Somaliland Armed Forces, a
new force throughout the Republic of Somaliland. National Fire Brigade was
established in 2014, mainly composed of young crew and an emergency response
agency.
Its flag is red with its emblem placed on a white disc in the
center of the flag.
